Corine de Ruiter in conversation with Ayse Yazilitas about loss, love, and connection beyond death
In this special and layered interview, I speak with Prof. Dr. Corine de Ruiter, Professor of Forensic Psychology at Maastricht University. She is known for her work in forensic psychology, risk assessment, violence prevention, and her critical perspective on how the system is organized in the Netherlands. We discuss her life story, her years of experience in forensic psychology, and the question of how the Netherlands deals with safety, perpetration, vulnerability, and human behavior. Additionally, Corine opens about a very personal part of her life. In her book ‘Tears for a Golden Butterfly’, she writes about the death of her son Julian and the profound journey of grief, love, and connection that followed. In this conversation, she also talks about the energetic connection she experiences with her son, about life after loss, and about her view of the other dimension. An interview in which science, grief, love, and spirituality intersect. A conversation about the person behind the professor. About loss that not only brings pain but also opens a new reality. And about love that does not stop when someone is no longer physically present.
